The following Terms of Competition, together with any additions or amendments as published by the Tournament Committee at the host club, will apply to this Championship.
GENERAL
1. The 2024 SGA-BFG 18 Hole Challenge - 4th Leg will be played at Keppel Club on Monday, November 18, 2024.
2. It will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Rules Limited and with the Local Rules approved by the Organizing Committee.
3. It will be played in accordance with SGA Tournament Safe Management Guidelines.
ELIGIBILITY
4. Entries are open to boys and girls who are Singaporeans, Permanent Residents, and Foreigners of ages 9 - 14 years old as of 01 January 2024.
5. Players must hold a valid WHS Handicap Index and will be based as of the 1st of the month before the event schedule, for each leg of the Series mentioned in the previous section. Handicap eligibility is as follows:

6. Handicap Index containing Excessive Penalty Scores will not be accepted.
7. Golfers who do not meet the minimum eligibility criteria may be considered for acceptance by the Organising Committee on a case-to-case basis.
8. They must conform in all respects to the Rules of Amateur Status as laid down by the R&A Rules Ltd.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT OF PLAY
9. The SGA-BFG Challenge will be played over 1 round of 18 holes.

10. The player with the lowest gross score for Strokeplay in each Division will be the winner.
11. There will be four Divisions - (1) "Boys A" Division, (2) "Girls A" Division, (3) "Boys B" Division, (4) "Girls B" Division per leg.
12. There will be two Divisions based on age groups and Handicap Index. They are:

SIZE OF FIELD
13. The allocation of entries to the various divisions and genders will be determined by the OC and is final.
14. The OC reserves the right to refuse any entry without assigning any reason for such refusal. The decisions of the OC as to the acceptance or refusal of any entry shall be final.
ENTRY
15. The entry fee is S$60.00 nett which is applicable only for those who are not in the SGA Squad. All fees are inclusive of GST and must be settled upon registration.
16. There will be no refund of the entry fee after the closing date.
17. Refund will only be given when provided with a medical certificate. It must be submitted by 9:00am the next day after the event.
18. Entries must be submitted through the official online entry form on SGA’s website or Golf Genius.
19. Participants are advised to check the SGA website for the confirmed roster.
20. Only entries with proof of insurance and payment will be processed.
21. The OC reserves the right to limit, accept or reject entries
OPENING & CLOSING DATE
22. The registration will open on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 09:00 AM.
23. The registration will close on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 09:00 AM.
24. Players will be notified regarding their status via email latest by Tuesday 5:00 PM after the registration has closed. Payment will only be processed once the player is on the confirmed roster.
25. Late entries may be accepted at the sole discretion of the OC.
DRAW
26. The confirmed roster/players list will be decided based on a rotation basis except for the 1st Leg which will be based on first come first served.
27. Players shall start at the time & in the order indicated in the draw. No substitution of players & changes shall be permitted after the draw has been made.
28. The draw will be made by the OC prior to the start of the tournament. And will be out two (2) business days before the event.
TIME OF STARTING
29. Tee-off times shall start at 12:00 PM, in the order as indicated in the draw. No substitution of players and changes in starting times shall be permitted after the draw has been made.
30. The OC reserves the right to fix and/or alter the starting times.
SUBMISSION OF SCORECARD
31. Players should check their cards in the returning area (scoring table) and ensure that they are correct and signed. Any doubtful points should be settled with the OC before returning the scorecard.
32. A player is deemed to have returned his scorecard and no further amendments may be made once he has left the returning area (scoring table) or the demarcated area where they exist.
DECISION OF TIES
33. In the event of a tie for first place, the winner shall be decided by matching of scorecards of the round for the best score of the last 9 (10 – 18), last 6 (13 – 18), last 3 (16 – 18) or the final 18th hole.

SUSPENSION OF PLAY FOR DANGEROUS SITUATION (NOTE TO RULE 5.7b)
34. A suspension of play for a dangerous situation and the resumption of play shall be signalled using the host club’s warning system. The penalty for Breach of Rule 5.7b is Disqualification.
35. All practice areas that are in open areas shall be closed during suspension for a dangerous situation until the OC has declared them open.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
37. In the event that the round cannot be completed, the round shall be abandoned or cancelled. The result of the standing of the tournament will then be decided by the organizing committee.
BUGGIES / MOTORISED TROLLEY
38. The use of buggies and motorized trolleys in this tournament is prohibited.
39. Players are to walk/carry / hand-trolley their golf bags.
PACE OF PLAY
40. Rule 5.6b (Prompt Pace of Play) will be strictly enforced using the ‘SGA Individual Pace of Play policy. See separate memorandum to players for the Pace of Play guidelines.
DISPUTES OR DOUBTS AS TO CORRECT PROCEDURE
41. If there is a doubt as to the correct procedures, players are to refer to the Tournament Referee. If a Tournament Referee is not immediately available, a player (having notified his marker) may elect to play two balls in accordance with Rule 20.1c(3) and obtain a ruling at the conclusion of the round, prior to signing and the return of the scorecard.
42. No spectators (including parents) are to enter any discussion on a matter under dispute.
SGA REFEREES
43. The appointed SGA Referees’ decision on all matters pertaining to the Rules of Golf is final.
INSURANCE
44. All players are required to have appropriate golfing insurance. Proof of insurance coverage must be submitted together with the entry form.
GROOVE AND PUNCH MARK SPECIFICATIONS
45. Player’s clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from 1 January 2010.
PRIZE PRESENTATION
46. Results will be announced online through websites and other different media platforms. Prizes will be collected at the SGA Office at a given schedule and or will be distributed according to the club’s discretion.
DRESS CODE
47. Players must be properly attired on the golf course. Blue jeans, designer jeans, round neck T-shirts and tank tops are prohibited. Golf shirts must be worn and shorts must be no shorter than mid-thigh (no jean shorts).
48. This dress code will be used in conjunction with any additional dress code restrictions of the host club. Players and caddies violating this dress code will not be permitted to start the tournament.
49. A violation of this dress code by a player or caddie during the stipulated round must be rectified without undue delay or the player will not be allowed to continue play.
50. Soft spiked shoes are compulsory.
CONDUCT OF PLAYERS
51. All players should conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship at all times, irrespective of how competitive they may be.
52. Any action contrary to the spirit of the game such as abusive language, throwing of clubs, or other disruptive behaviours, will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification. If a player commits a serious breach of conduct, he may be barred from entry to future tournaments.
53. The use of mobile phones (except in an emergency) and smoking are not allowed on the course.
SPECTATORS/PARENTS
54. Spectators and Parents will not be allowed on the golf course at all times, except for the parents who volunteer as chaperones.
CHAPERONES
55. Chaperones should be dressed in proper golfing attire.
56. The chaperone's role is to ensure the safety of the players in their flight.
AMENDMENTS TO CONDITIONS
57. The OC reserves the right to amend these terms of competition.
